OBOCS (On Board Oil Containment Systems) is a revolutionary new approach to oil and chemical spill containment. Designed to be on the vessel or at the port/terminal, it is designed to quickly, efficiently, and safely deploy inflatable boom at the site of a spill in order to start containment immediately. 500 feet of boom can be deployed in 25 minutes — much quicker than awaiting shoreside response. The idea is to start containment immediately so as to prevent the spread of oil to our shorelines and habitat. It’s good for the environment; it’s good for the industry; it just makes sense.
